A 2008 study comparing the salaries of transgender employees before and after their gender changes found that, while average earnings for biological females who transitioned to male slightly increased after transition, earnings fell by nearly a third for workers who went from male to female. “I think the gap … has to do with ideas about gender and how masculinity is valued in the workplace,” said Kristen Schilt, a U. of Chicago professor who conducted the study with Matthew Wiswall of NYU.

"Your keynote inspired and enlightened attendees...  Your programs were highlights of the conference."
— Brian Greene, Colorado SHRM Diversity Director

"You really did a fantastic job today. Your introduction was great, a little edgy to get everyone's interest and then the transition to leaders who go across boundaries.... Very well done!"
—John Courtney, PPLD Associate Director

"I trained to become a diversity trainer under Jody Alyn's leadership.  I was very impressed with Jody's teaching and coaching techniques, presentation style, and passion in her work.  But, nothing could have prepared me for the class we delivered the day after the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.  Two in our audience had family members within the Twin Towers vicinity… they shared the horror they experienced.... Many members of our class were justifiably angry….

Jody was able to harness their passion and use the experience to deliver the most unforgettable lesson in diversity and inclusion that I have ever experienced.  Jody's leadership and vision as she led us through that difficult day has sincerely changed the way I view humanity, as well as my own responsibilities with regard to patriotism, diversity, inclusion, and forgiveness.  Jody truly lives what she teaches."

“You have a universal style and an ability to reach a wide range of audiences, from the most sophisticated to the most challenged.”
—Rosemary Harris, columnist

"You were terrific and your program was tremendous - in presentation and value. I was watching the faces of the audience since we are so diverse in ages and careers. You held everyone's attention from the beginning to the end...."
—Diane Pfalzgraf, Membership/Networking Chair
American Business Women's Association - Pikes Peak Chapter

“Jody’s thoughtful approach challenges, demystifies and strengthens audience awareness around the area of diversity.  Her intentional planning made every session exactly what was needed.”
—Joe Fabey, Asst. Principal
Colorado Springs School District 20

“Your presentation for our group was just tops! You've certainly made me think about diversity -- and the importance of inclusion -- in much different ways. I've always detested the word 'diversity,' but always strive to be a catalyst for inclusion in whatever I do ... and now see that, in some ways, I've been successful, and in other ways I fall into subtle stereotypes that I'm not aware of. Thanks for the wake-up call, and, again, for a super presentation.”

On behalf of the National District Attorneys Association, I want to thank you for serving as a faculty member for the Office Administration Course held recently in San Diego, California.  I truly appreciate all of your assistance and support.  Your knowledge on this complex topic helped make the course a success.  As you saw we had a very diverse audience and once you made them feel comfortable talking we learned of some pretty dynamics issues occurring in their offices. The attendees valued your expertise and benefited from being able to “pick your brain” and ask about practical solutions.  They thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to share specific challenges they are facing currently facing in their offices and obtain valuable strategies and other resourceful tools  to meet these challenges.  Please know how much your hard work in preparing a strong presentation was appreciated.

Once again you have succeeded in sharing valuable knowledge with our attendees that has instant applicability to issues they are facing on their dockets.
Candace Mosley, Director of Programs
National District Attorney's Association
